29thanks eureka for posting the graph..
the graph is symmetrical abt x = 3.5
so the sum of the values of x for which the quadratic eqn touches the graph of sinπx = 7(by symmetry)
and the values on the x axis for which the two graphs intersect = 3 , 4..
so total sum of solutions = 14 = 2*7
so 2+7 = 9...hence the answer...
