@akhil,,,,if you know how to tackle subjective, you will always be able to answer objective questions.REVERSE IS NOT TRUE. moreover, TRICKS WERE not so helpful last year!!!!! :(
the method i like to study mathematics, first i derive all the formulaes & important results & after clearing all the concepts i jump to excercise but this is possible only if i have a book which has the necessary derivations ,for eg. SL loney for coordinate geometry & trigonometry, but some topics in algebra like quadratic equations, arent there in school syllabus ie.ncert and some portion is not there even in Higher algebra by Hall & knight. So im looking for appropriate books after searching i found a book named Arihant Algebra by S K Goyal, ill be just referring it for theory and proofs and then do questions from ml khanna & tmh. There are also two more books for Differential Calculus & Integral Calculus by Amit m agrawal (arihant). So do u recommend them theory?

u know if u REALLY WANNA be good i maths if u have time start preparing for maths olympaids....(trust me it helps a lot) a mathematician (a true one ) should be able to solve any sum. If u wanna score above 140/160 in maths trust me if u dont have a practise of maths olympaid.. u will need to be REALLY CLEVER(NOT A GENIUS) theres a difference.....
However if u have got into the habit of option elimnation and tricks that objective questions can be solved u can get above 100...(but thats rare ).......
so i would recommend if in 11 start with Number Theory
Well
IIT Mathamatics by Dr. R.K Gupta is good enough..
Publisher's name is "Krishna Prakashan Media limited"
Well!Subjective questions are hard ones as appreciated by me.So,good ones to try.But as per the pattern,we should give more focus on objective ones. But you should try subjective ones. You know in IITJEE 2010 subjective problems were also asked in quite a good number. So, don't think that subjective problems are not necessary for us.
if you know how to tackle subjective, you will always be able to answer objective questions
not neccesarily nowadays!!!!
:D
im not dying to get into IITs,but still try my hand in jee because i think college wont matter, what u do in college matters.
@vinayI dont have coaching thats why im asking for a book for theory,if i could prove them, why would i ask for a book? i already have ml khanna, and TMH
but they are mere question banks with just list for formulaes.
What im asking is,Arihant text books like Algebra by sk goyal, calculus by amit agarwal are good for theory or not ?
Do u wanna a Phd in MATH or wat.....u wont b able to complete TMH or MLK fully.....and u thnk of doin thm both!!! Well Arihant is nice...and thn do TMH [1]
but samagra
nowadays one needs to have different skill of solving the obj. paper as well
and if u see in past 3 4 yrs , maths has never been easy in JEE
and i m tellin u, subjective quesns wont help much ( esp. those bfore 2000)
so stick to the syllabus
keep it short and simple
remember the imp. tricks in algebra and coordinate........
don't go for solving objectives.get into the habit of solving SUBJECTIVE questions.Go FOR M L KHANNA
M.L. Khanna is the best and the great. If you want more then take T.M.H.
karlo poori books mutthi mein........par application kaise karoge mutthi mein?? n i feel there is "no single good book" in market as far as jee is concerned[3].sorry if i hurt someone!these were my thoughts...i had pretty hard time with maths when i realized burn away all the books.all are worst....simply get hold of all the formula[ye sab books mein milega..ghatiya se ghatiya mein]....get some olypmiad problems from "each" topic....solve them on "ur own" no matter how long it takes.....these problems use all tht u know!..n this develops "application" skills in u!....n makes ur "mind ready to accept mind boggling and unfamiliar and horrendous problems and how to keep urself CALM...in such cases"
Use M.L. khanna. But it contains many formulae without proof. But as you have read your 11 12 books, you may be able to prove those results. You should also use Objective mathematics for iitjee by the same.Actually coaching at some centre will do everything.
anyone??
i have only 1 year left for jee,ill give it a try else ill do Bsc.
which book i study( i dont think i have time to complete more than 1 book) ?
ill try for JEE. Maybe ill just do TMH.What i am asking is that Arihant text books for algebra & calculus have got theory in them with all the proofs or not ?
Are those books good?
do u wanna do JEE or somethin else?
coz for JEE
do R D OBJ. ( its a nice book with a lot of OBJECTIVE TYPE QUESNS)
thats the need of the hr.........:)
then of course u can go for TMH..
