For guys who just gave Xth Exams.

Ok so i had seen here someone saying division by ZERO is not "defined".
Okay...but why can't division by zero be defined?See if u can figure it out if not i will post reply after April-10!

on dividing any number say '1' by 0 u'll get the quotient to be 1111111111111111111111.......................

whichz not gonna stop.... unless and until u stop....

and so?

well 0/1 = 0

:)

not complete!there much more left out...think more!
m sure if u look at "define" word i highlited...so u must note i don't do tht without purpose....n thts biggest hint....n i don't ask non-sense limiting things [3][3](just kidding)....just go for
this hint:

"PROPERTIES OF OPERATIONS"...i hope u will crack it down in no time now!

look....0x0=0

0x1=0

0x2=0

0x3=0

chalte jao

0x10000000000002222222222229999999999999944444444444444777777777=0

so now let us divide...

1000=we are confused what to write as the first digit of the quotient! ;)

So not defined! :P

Adding to what subho said, an example will illustrate,

5*0 = 6*0

Dividing both sides by zero,

5=6 ! [3]

what say bout this?

Let, a = b

=> ab = b2

=> ab - a2 = b2 - a2

=> a (b - a) = (b + a)(b - a)

=> a = b + a

putting, a = 1 we get, 1 = 1 + 1 = 2

or, 1 = 2 .... what???????

Its simple that , division of any number by 0 is not-defined or infinity...

but, 0/0 form is indeterminate and not equal to 1

This is the error in my proof above.... Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

(b-a)=0...how can u divide it by 0

Good question kunl.Zero=nil
1 is quite big for nil.So,1 by nil is going to be infinite.So,it cannot be defined.

ya! This is the logic in that silly proof....

See,please tell me what is the wrong in this.

Are you saying about some other proof

vinay - couldn't get?

I,kunl,you talked about a question which came in iitjee about quadratic equation.In that Kunl gave good logic
a.b-0=>a=0 or b=0.But not necessarily a=0 may be b=0.You have again revised your mistake.
