see if you simplify your functional eq it becomes (ln|x|)3=-sinxpi.

Now consider the first quadrant. We have ln1=0 and lne=1.

So the ln graph definitely cuts the sine graph once before 1, then at 1, and the once between 1 and 2.

So that's 3 solns in quadrant 1. Since ln|x| has a reflection in the 2nd and 3rd quadrant. there are 6 solns.
