use permutation when there is selection+arrangement
use combination when there is only selection
7 ppl can be distributed in 11 places in 11p7 ways.it matters if people change their seats
a team of 11 ppl can be selected from 15 in15c11 ways .it doesnt matter if you change order
now is it that an easier explanation

taking this example,,,,,,,,,you use (C) when the people cannot be distinguished and (P) when the people are distinct!
