rhs =1/2{p+q-mod(p-q)}
= 1/2(p+q-p+q) ...(since mod(p-q)=p-q)
= q
for q<p,
lhs=p
rhs =1/2(p+q-q+p)
= p
hence for all cases this is true. therefore ans. is b
2. ans. should be ∞ as the curve will have infinite maximas.
