Use the substitution y2=a-x to reduce the equation y3dydx+x+y2=0 to homogeneous form and hence solve it.

2ydy/dx = da/dx - 1

thus,

(a-x)(-1/2)(da/dx-1)+a=0

da/dx=2a/(a-x)+1=(3a-x)/(a-x)
