I gave the answer as C. I think that the boiling of water must be the physical change and the cooking of rice as the chemical change.
How can it be only physical change?

As far as i know, the only change that occurs is that the rice becomess softer. So, it is only physical change.

It becomes softer, means the composition changes right? Think on a molecular level. The spaces between molecules increase, making it softer.
