let radius=r
we have 102=2r2 (from pythagorus theorem)
or r=√50
area of circle = 3.14(50)=15.7
area of shaded region= 15.7 / 4
=3.925 cm2
In the given figure, a chord AB of a circle of 10cm radius subtends a rt. angle at the centre O.Find the area of the sector OABC & of the major segment.(pie=3.14)

Area of the shaded sector = θ/360 x ∩ r2
= 90/360 x (3.14) x 25 = 1/4 x 78.5 = 19.63 cm2
Area of the major sector = area of the circle - area of the minor sector
= 22/6 x 25 - 19.63 = 91.67 - 19.63 =72.04 cm2
