A person moves a certain dist. in a certain time. 1/3 of dist. is covered in 2/3 of time with speed V1 and 2/3 of distance is covered in 1/3 of time with speed V2 then V1/V2=?
a)1/2
b)1/4
c)1/9
d)2/9
the answer is ....option b.....
sorry for troubling you.....
let the total distance be 'd' and total time be 't'
1st case
according to the question,
distance covered is=d3
time taken=2t3
therefore, V1= d3 / 2t3 = d3x32t [since,v=dt]
=d2t
2nd case
distance covered=2d3
time taken=t3
therfore, V2=2d3/t3 =2d3x3t
=2dt
therefore, V1V2 =d2t/2dt = d2txt2d=14
that's your answer.....[option B]
