the line and the point are diff rite.......... how will a common plane have both??????
Find the foot of the perpendicular from P(1, 2, 3) on the line
(sum line is given..........).......
Also obtain the equation of the plane containing the line and the point (1, 2, 3)........... My doubt is how do we find the equation of the plane???????????????????????????
Will it contain both d line and d point??????

yeah it will contain both
You have 2 vectors (lines ) (vecotrs and lines are the same thing)
1) The one of the line
2) The one of the perpendicular
Hint : The cross product will give you somethint
They will akand...
Look at the diagram you just made.. does it not look on the plane?
The plane of the monitor..
Moreover to prove this...
take a plane (infinite) passing through this line. and rotate this plane about the line.
Will it not cover all the points in the space?
Hence.. we know that it will cover that point as well..
The problem will only arise if the point is on the line
oh yeah............... thnx a lot nishant....... i forgot bout d plane of d paper.........hehe thnx again......
