the points have to be either the ends of major axis or ends of minor axis .

ends of minor axis is not possible since putting the given distance = b , we get a=0 .

hence the two points are the ends of major axis.

a = (1/âˆš2 ) x âˆš(a²+2b²)

a²=2b²

e= 1/âˆš2
