a straight line AB intersects the y-axis at B and the perpendicular to AB at B intersects the x-axis at C.If the equation of the straight line AB is x/3-y/4=-1 find the co-ordinates of the point C ?

from the given equation of the st line,
B=(0,4)...and slope of AB =4/3
...thus slope of its perpendicular =-3/4 and this perpendicular passes through (0,4)
......this gives you the equation of the perp to AB ...put y=0 in that eqn and you will get the coordinates of X axis where the perp cuts it !
