The second circle has centre (2,-3) and radius 4 so radius of first circle must be 1
and so its eqn is (x+1)2+(y-1)2 = 1

Yes correct Philip

So , Intercepts made by the circle on the coord axes r 0 & 0

OK TRY this

2 ) A circle C is a tangent to the x & y axes at the points P n Q respectively ,BC & AD r parallel tgts to the circle with slope -1

If the points A & B r on the y-axis while C & D on the x-axis & area of ABCD is 900√2 sq.units

Then find the radius of the circle

hey d radius is 15 units isnt it????

let d eq of BC be x + y=c1 n dat of AD be x+y=c2..let d radius be r
using distance formula

c1-c22=2r

again cordinates of d centre are r,r

if we use distance formula to equate the distance 4m the 2 tangents we get

2r-c12=c2-2r2

or c1+c2=4r

area =900√2units
so c12-c22=1800√2units

if we solve all these we get r=15units
