If p is the perpendicular distance of the line x/a + y/b =1 from the origin , show that 1/p² = 1/a² + 1/b²

the given equation becomes:
bx + ay - ab =0
thus, perpendicular dist from (0,0) ={b(0) +a(0) - ab}/âˆš(a²+b²) = p

manipulating the given situation we get....p= (ab) / âˆš(a²+b²)
=>1/p² =(a² +b²)/ a²b²
=>1/p² =1/b² +1/a²
......................hence proved !!!!
