All tiitians post ur full name , college , branch so that we can know someone better whos joining the same college
62celestine it is because of the quota system that the single rooms are now triple
same is there in kgp.. there are very small rooms with double occupancy..
I dont think we can do much.. the authorities in a govt college are as careless as that.
That is one thing you will hate about IIT for 4 yrs but can probably do nothing about..

most of them had double rooms in 1st year and some even had triple sharing but now all of them have single
and in iitm two new grand big hostels are in the bulding up process so surely all will have single rooms in 2nd year
1and well be alotted single rooms from 2nd year onwards :)

even in iitd , we got triple seater rooms(derived from dbl) in the 1st year and now a dbl seater room( which was earlier meant for a single person :(( )..
the condition is pathetic ..

9iitm is only LAN enabled no wi fi as far as i know
and iwent to see the hostels again , now i think its alright for 3
they r pretty decent only
and im also happy with the fact that my hostel is the most airiest of all ( though its prone to floods and snakes )
and well be alotted single rooms from 2nd year onwards :)

its a shame they dont reflect quality in hostels compared to their entrance exam .
whats worse is this iitb has worst hostels among all the iits and majority of students with gud ranks seek there !

agreed single occupancy ppl will have less frnds but then theres no privacy in 3 ppl room
its hardly an intelectually stimulating environment when u r tryin to study in ur room , ur other frnd listening to music and other one browsing the net !

11You are lucky guys. I just stayed for a week in my hostel in NIT-T. In a room meant for three we are actually four. And having four alarms for six in the morning is actually a help :P. No one can miss it.
