Q1 Which of the following do exist?
a) SH6
b) HFO4
c) FeI3
d) HClO3
Correct Answer: (d)
FeI3 also exists naa ??
d) will be the rite ans.
Fe3+ ion will be stabilised only by atoms having high electronegativity.
Whereas connecting half-reaction 1 (Fe3+/Fe2+) to I2/2I- results in a reading of 0.23V.
and SH6 wont exist bcos of the high electronegative of sulphur and the small size of hydrogen if SH6 exists then it suddenly dissociate to H2S.
HFO4 wont exist bcos of the fluorine atom.
no explaination..just instinct...[3]
i will search for a proof and then reply..[1]
hey if it is formed then it will be an ionic cpd rite.
do u agree.
An ionic cpd can be formed only if
lattice energy +electron gain enthalpy > ionisation enthalpy
rite.
here lattice energy is definitely low for Iodine and also its electron gain enthalpy okie
but the ionisation enthalpy is high for formation of Fe3+ rite so cpd cant be formed.
do u agree.
