Alternating current 1

hey friends.... plz help me put in this q from arihant objectives.... of alternating current.....

As the frequency of the alternating current is increased , the impedence of the circuit

(a) increases continuously
(b) decreases continuously
(c) remains constant
(d) none of the above.

i cud understand.....

which circuit are u talkin abt????????
eg, in r circuit impedence doesnt depend on w........

ya the ans is (D)... but i cudn't understand......

nd lanuk..... whtever q was mentioned in the buk... i've written dat.... i did not gave ne idea abt the type of the circuit......

so plz think abt it.....

ok let me give explanation.....

impedence={R2+ (Xc-XL)2}1/2

XL=L2nv , v-frequency

xc=1/2nvc

now if v increases XL increases AND xc decreases . so impedence decreases at a particular resonant frequency xL=xc and later on XL>xc and impedence increase again ,looking at the equation...

so impedence decreases and then increases .........

kk.. bt if say d circuit is only r circuit , wouldnt d impedence be constant????(z=R)

ya....dat tym Z = R... which is the case of maximum current or the case of resonance.....

nd thanks nihal 4 da explanation.....
