frnds discuss this question..........
2 metal spheres of radii a and b are connected by a thin conducting spheres.There sep is very arge compared to there dimensions. Find the equivalent capacitance of the system.
Since they are connected by a wire so the two spheres should havew the same potnetial and if they do then capacitance is infinity actually........
but the asnwer given is
4\pi \epsilon (a^2{}+b^2{})/2
i am sure there is a mistake what r ur opinion guys.....

this case is equivalent to 2 capacitors (here 2 capacitors are capacitance of isolated spheres with that of infinity) joined in parallal!! :)
answer is NOT infinity!
welll i thought of that too
the way i thought abt it was wrong i wanted the answer n i thought all methods
but first capcitance
C=C_{1} C_{2}\div C_{1}+ C_{2}
C=C_{1}+ C_{2}
either of them but the answer wont come it will never come in the from a^2+b^2 but let me tell you if a question like this comes for JEE wont u go like i did give aa charge Q to one and a -Q to other haan....
any more replies Nishant bhaya and kaymant sir or should it ake this ti be an error in dcp
