The magnitude of electric field decreases when dielectric is placed but potential increases continuously across the plates
right !!!!
When a dielectric is inserted in a parallel plate capacitor then how will the electric potential vary across the distance b/w the 2 plates?
If a charged capacitor is isolated from d battery and then the dielectric constant is inserted, then V = V0 / k
If d capacitor remains connected,when dielectric is being inserted , then V = V0.
actually, this phenomena depends on conservation of energy by the capacitors , when d dielectric is inserted and taken out.

Electic field decreases...
-E.ds' integral is the magnitude of the potential...
IF E decreases, then The magnitude of the potential will decrease..
but if you are talking about the "potential at a point" .. THen it will increase....
just add K to every \varepsilon\o
epselon naught i mean..n c whether it decreasesor increases.:)
