by defn it is not a capacitor at all,some buks says dat it has infinite capacitance,i am not sure.
Pls explain y capacitance of a Parallel plate capacitor becomes Infinite when connected with metal rod in b/w.

no dude ... just that if connected with a metallic rod the plates becum equipot.......... thus they show infinite cap ....... as C=Q/V .... here V=0 !!!!!!!!.......
in physical sense it can store infinite amount of charge!!!!!
Okkk iitimcomin is right..... There is one thing more.... current passes through capacitor .....so its capacitance depend on the dielectric of the medium... generally it is denoted by epsilon Now when metal is connected from one plate to another,,,,then current flow through the metal wire not in the space between plate... And as we know that epsilon for metal is infinite... So C= A*epsilon/d will become infinte. If you are able to understand this without any doubt...then i will feel very happy
