this is what i did
initial energy==
final enrgy=
=
C1 and C2 are two capacitors in series
problem no. of i e irodov -3.144
this problem is also in hc verma solved examples last question but the answer is different in hcv
in hcv it is solved by force method
i tried it by energy
using
energy of capacitor initially=energy of capacitors finally+gravitational PE
i hav taken grav PE to be (Ï(σQ)h)gh2
let h be the height of water
i am getting answer which is twice of irodov's one
am i missing something out
please help
Can you write down your solution? Because your Grav PE is correct and I don't see what you may have done wrong..
this is what i did
initial energy==
final enrgy=
=
C1 and C2 are two capacitors in series
+ grav PE
my answer is cuming to be twice of the correct answer plzz tell me wats my mistake
hcv answer is different from irodovs and also different from the answer given by the above process!!!
hcv part 2---page=163--example=23
irodov=page=124;;3.144
yes ,i have also got it twice the answer(but its incorrect)
,since its not given whether the capacitor is ISOLATED or CONNECTED to a battery(work done by the battery is taken into consideration in this case);;;
,you can write an expression for TOTAL ENERGY when Height of liquid is X,and since the TOTAL ENEGRY IS CONSTANT>>
differentiate wrt to x,
and you will get the answer,,
if not i will post the solution
first try yourself :)
