why we connect a resistor having a high resistance in series with coil of voltmeter??

As you know that voltmeter is also having some resistance.So there will be a fall of potential across it due to voltmeter.So it will not be able to measure the correct potential difference.So we need to lower its resistance.If we connect another resistor in parrallel then the net resistance across the voltmeter gets lowered.So there will be less fall of potential across it.And it will measure the voltage correctly.So this is the reason behind connecting one more resistor parallel ot the voltmeter.
