We know that electric current is not a vector.
Then in Kirchoff's law,why do we take negative value of current from our calculations to have a direction opposite to the assumed direction?

well to this one can say...
Current is not a vector just because it does not follow vector methods of addition...
i think that is what we read...
just that parallellogram law is violated!
so there is no problem in opposite current bearing a opposite sign...SPECIALLY WHEN REVERSING THE SENSE OF CURRENT REVERSES THE DIRECTION OF MANY VECTORS ASSOCIATED WITH IT!!!!
