1) Of the charge Q on a tiny sphere, a fraction @ is to be transferred to a second , nearby sphere. The spheres can be treated as a particle.
What value of @ maximizes the mag F of the electrostatic force b/w the two spheres???
2)
In the above figure, an electron e travels through a small hole in plate A and then towards plate B. A uniformelectric field in the region b/w the plates then slows the electrons without deflecting it.
(a) What is the direction of the field?
(b) Four other particles similarily travel through small holes in either plate A or plate B and then into the region b/w the plates. These three have charges +q1, +q2 and - q3. The fourth (labelled n) is a neutron. Does the speed of each of those four others particles increases, deceases, or remains the same in the region b/w the plates.
3)
The figure shows three circular arcs centred on origin of coordinate system. On each arc, the uniformly distributed charge is given in terms of Q. The radii are given in terms of R.
What are the magnitude and direction of the net electric field at the origin due to the arcs.

Q,2:-the field is directed horizontally from plate A to B; as the acceleration of electron is along BA, and electric field is always directed opposite to the accln. of -ve charge.
a positive charge is always accelerated towards the electric field and _ve charge is always accelerated against it........
