Can we get a electrric shock from household utensils and water tap?
from some days whenever i get up from mah sleep ...n touch the water sink tap....i get a shock....then wenever i touch the window grill...then also the same thing occurs,,,,,also wen i tried takin a glass of water from mah mom...i got a shock from the glass though both of ur were wearing sandals....it is very instantaneous and doesnt occur second time...wen i touch the thing second time...it doesnt occur....also clothes of socks material get fully clinged to the legs...is it due to the weather prevailing after winter ???? it doesnt occur always....only some times n that too if i touch the thing again it doesnt occur....

49ha ha.....let me tell u a story..when i was in cls 7, i once went to bed and together 20 electric sparks emerged from my body..
i was more shocked by the phenomenon than the actual current...i was afraid of ghosts...[3]
then father explained me the chapter of static electricity...well during winter..that is the dry weather, the things get charged due to friction with other dry things....
when two charged bodies of different potential come close to each other, there is electric arc or spark to discharge the body...
but once it happens then the bodies come in equal potential and then we do not get any more charges...
@rohit a suggestion....ur body seems to be very dry indeed....please dont forget t o use vaseline body lotion daily during winter,,[3][3][3]

1u might notice that even cars give a shock after a ride quite frequently in winter .. and this occurs in summer as well though rarely. :)
1oh..actually i felt it after almost 6 months recently n though the earth cables of my house wer at fault :D...and subhomoy the advice was great indeed...vaseline poeple might even want to giv u a free sample for the free advertisement :D

62TO add a small story of my own..
my friend went to germany for research in mathematics..
He used to say that when he used to pick up his coat (They wear very long coats in Europre) he used to get shocks each time because he was not used to the fact that coats have electric shocks :D
THen he was used to it and stopped picking up coats casually ;)
