a block of mass m and having a charge q placed on a smooth horizontal table and is connected to a wall through an unstretched spring of spring const. k.a horizontal electric field E is paraalel to spring is switched on.find amplitude of resulting shm of block!!!!!

i did following

qEx=1/2kx² [x=amplitude]

so x=2qE/k

is something wrong with what i did!!!!!!!!!!!

in SHM the mean position is the one where the net force on the oscillating body is zero .
and u r considering that extension of spring = distance of body from mean position , wich will be wrong here
