HC Verma Capacitor question

A thin metal plate P is inserted between the plates of a parallel-plate capacitor of capacitance C in such a way that its edges touch the 2 plates.The capacitance now becomes,

(a)C
(b)2C
(c)0
(d)∞

Ans given is ∞ but ∞ means it can store infinite charge but as it'll behave now as a simple conducting wire so it won't be able to store any amount of charge.So,the new capacitance should be 0 ???

It the Q.8.-Objective I-H.C. Verma Part 2-Page-164.

no dude..
Since potential diff=0 => Infinite charge can be supplied from battery
=>C=∞
