Resistance

I dont know how many times this one has been discussed here.....but the reason for posting here is that I just found 2 good solns to this one.....
Find resistance b/w A and B

Lets see who posts all 3....

Start with the easiest

There was a QOD on the same..

let me try to find it..

taran ......generally u replace the the other part of infinite branch as Req...instead of Req...replace as kReq

Lokesh Verma ·

Taran.. more often than not.. (and almost in every question for IIT JEE) you will have to see some intelligent recurrsion.. which will kill the rest of the loop.. and reduce it to a single/ double loop

Like what organic has done in his second post...

taran ·

how to proceed in a similar question where the resistance in each succesive branch is 'k' times the resistances of its previous branch

dat link helped. Thanx.

For those who didnt understand what I did in soln2 ...see this

absolutely right debo.........

so plz try it out guys .....

any comments about method 2 ???

does that help u ??

leave everything, concentrate on the topic !!!!!!

hehe....lot of blaming stuff....but yes nishant sir is right.....no use of fighting over these small things.....

anyone got the 3 rd method ???

or is no one trying even ????

Hint: Idnetify pattern

Hmm... my comments in #15 seems to go a wrong way. I didn't mean to say whether someone is cheat or not. What I needed to convey simply was to be honest with oneself (if not with others). I have no problem with ppl copying things from somewhere and then writing that over here. But what I hate is when ppl copy things which they do not understand. If you understand things and then copy, it is not of a big problem because you save time that way (because you would be able to do things given sufficient time).

So there is no need to blame anyone.

guys.. grow up... dont be kids and dont fight and blame each other..

That will kill the spirit of helping each other... and your own mood and preparations....

Do you guys think you are the only ones who want to show off.. As you see more of the world around you, you will see everyone wants to do the same... Every single person.. (In their own small way)

Most ppl are hypocrites who will not accept this.. but you should not get fooled. We all want to get appreciation for our work and our knowledge.. Only a very very few people are totally selfless...

I would like to say much more but then this will become a "senti" post [3]

@ organic
i dont go about poking u people then why do u have to comment on each and everything....be concerned with urself.....!!
i may not be better than u in studies but nowhere does this site say that it is only for the extra intelligent....!!
so pls do mind ur own buisness organic...!!

let the equivalent resistance between A and B be (x). thus the given circuit can be reduced to :

from the diagram, RAB={(Rx)/(R+x) } + 1 (R=3Ω is given)
this gives a quadratic in (x)......solve it , ignore the negative value...thats done( this seems to be the easiest way out )

YES, ARSHAD IS A CHEAT BY NATURE....WHEN I SAW HIS GRAPHS I REALIZED THAT !!!! HE HAD COPIED THE GRAPHS FROM THE SOFTWARE USED FOR DRAWING GRAPHS!!! WHEN ONE GUY POINTED THAT OUT, HE CRITICISED HIM AND DISMISSED THE ALLEGATIONS !!! NOW HE HAS BEEN PUBLICLY PROVED TO BE A ROGUE!!!
AFTER THIS, DONT SAY THAT I AM USING HARSH WORDS,,,,EVERYONE ELSE HAS COME TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR CHEATINGS!

24
eureka123 ·

looks like no one even noticed this....

otehrwise there would have been some comments

24
eureka123 ·

Ok....here is soln 2.....

24
eureka123 ·

Hey no one trying it ????????

has everyone forgotten abt this ?

66
kaymant ·

@arshad, are you cheating yourself?
Please don't say that this was your school project. One uses the j notation (as in ejnπ) mostly in electrical engineering in college (at least I have never seen it used in school). And I don't believe you would be exposed to Fourier transforms in school...even in any project.

Further, while you were copying things from http://sites.google.com/site/resistorgrid/node1 you should have at least written the things in your own words..

Arshad ~Died~ ·

ok i will post it now.....seeing the amount of criticism i am getting for saying it
it was better if i havent mentioned it but eureka himself mentioned that he wanted all solutions

62
Lokesh Verma ·

yes karna.. I dont think arshad (in this post) really understands what he is saying..

I hope he proves kaymant sir and me wrong...

24
eureka123 ·

that fourier thing has been dismissed by kaymant sir already dude [1]

66
kaymant ·

@arshad, I hope you know well about what you are talking..

24
eureka123 ·

well i havent read that one....
it means we have a fourth method too...

I want to see that too

UTTARA ·

Please post it!

I wud like to know abt Fourier Transform

1
Arshad ~Died~ ·

Superposition and the Fourier Transform is another way to do it.....!!!
if thats what eure is looking for i can post it..

24
eureka123 ·

yup one method done....

now try to fond other two....

i will post the second one tom and the third one day after tom if no one posts..[1]though i pray that situation never comes..[1]
