resistance!!!!!!!!

the figure shows an infinite arrangement of equilateral triangles........the resistances on each half of a side of a triangle goes on becoming (1/2) as the arrangement delves inside...........you have to find the equivalent resistance between B and C . (please answer quickly...)

by symmetry current will not flow across the plane perp. to BC

there is no connection perpendicular to BC....[7]

let x be net res. betw B and C .......

then in the second traingle [inside ] net res. will be x/2 [putting all Rs as R/2] ....

so say midpoints of those 2 sides are E F

2/x + 1/2R = 1/R(betw EF)

1/[2R + R(betw EF)] + 1/2R = 1/x ...

solve for x .....[half asleep .. so read soln at ur own risk]

one more method

if u take BA and AB nw lets take B as volt V

so d potential at d mid pints of AB and BC is same so bichemein d line joinin their mid points just remove it

so nw doin d same wid oder 3 u get

only d outside triangle ....
