thank u bhaiya..i was very curious to know abt this method.

I have resisted a lot in the past against this method.
I really feel that this method takes away the joy of solving complex circuits and should be studied only at an engineering level.
But becasue the papers have now become objective no one cares and the bottomline is that we have to score marks.
So read the reference above and try to prove the results on that page

a teacher taught me this during BT contact class but sometimes it bcomes longer by this method
so i never used this
but theres a lot of advantage in learning this as sir pointed out
but one thing
learn this method only after gettin ur basics right , ie its preferable to learn it after u ve completed ur package problems and apply this method in future test series
Star and delta are WYE and Delta as given below...
This is the result

I want you all to try and prove the results!
but how does it help us in solving problems????
sir can u plzz sove an example question sing this method..[1][1]
start with an unbalanced wheatstone bridge
you will see the difference :)
but i feel even if we frgt single thing we can end up on wrong soln.....
actually im nt comfortable wid it.....why shud we use it....or whn shud we use it plzzz ....can u giv sum xample where we easily solve by ths method and using normal method is time consuming...
it 's really useful ......for an unbalanced wheatstone bridge ...........as nishant sir said
Thanx a lott bhaiyya. Is it useful anywhere else?? This method usually becums longer..
nishant bhaiya demanded for a proof which i will try to give now...
the 2 circuits are equivalent means that the equivalent resistance across two points in the Δ circuit must be equal to the equivalent resistance across the same two points in the Y circuit.
i mean to say that Req AB must be same for both ans so must be Req BC and Req CA
so we get the following sets of equation,
RAB//(RBC+RCA) = RA+ RB
or, RAB(RBC+RCA)RAB+RBC+RCA=RA+RB..............(I)
similarly, RCA(RAB+RBC)RAB+RBC+RCA=RA+RC..............(II)
and, RBC(RCA+RAB)RAB+RBC+RCA=RB+RC...........(III)
solving these we get the given results.
like (II) - (III) + (I) gives RA
