Silly doubt......bhaiya, the battery attracts the charges on the capacitor plates and thus it is not really supplying any charge right?
STATEMENT 1: During the charging of a capacitor(with the help of a battery), the battery is only energising the circuit and not supplying any charge to the circuit.
STATEMENT 2: When capacitor is charged with the help of a battery the net charge on a capacitor is 0 at any instant
The choices are the standard as given in JEE.

well the answer given is that both the statements are true but the reason is not the correct explanation!!!!!!
@nishant: well bhaiya why not is it true? the battery is only acting as the source of generating the potential difference its the free electrons that travel due to the PD!!!!!!
i thought the answer to be A( both correct and statement 2 is correct explanation!)
B hai ans..
stat 1 is true ... all knows..
stat2 is true coz net charge is 0 only .. +Q and -Q on opp plates..
(bhaiya y false? i din get you [2])
oh u told A false ???????????????
but y???????
actually i saw at first .. u told B false...
battery charge supply karta hai ??
i toh knew.. it maintains a constant pot diff across the plates of teh cap ...
It should be B no ? why is I false ?
it only does work to help the electrons to run around no ?
I is true..........because battery does not supply net charge in the circuit.........the charge leaving the battery from positive terminal is reattained through negative terminal
II is also true becoz net charge on capacitor =zero after charging.......which occurs instantaneously in case of pure capacitative circuit
why does not battery supply any charge to the capacitor, its simply because the net accumulation of charges is 0, hence the answer should be A why B since there is no accumulation of charges anywhere in the circuit the charge delivered by the battery should be 0 that is why it only energises the circuit!!!!
this implies that the answer should be A!
see akash,
all the explanation u have written... is it written in the STAT 2 of your question??
nahi naa??
we wont think so deeply... we will jus read the sentence..
on this context, krrish (an user here only) had told once dat if we dun have to think something extra to prove the assertion, then reason given is correct for the assertion..
bt if we need to think a few more points to support the assertion, then the reason is incomplete n ans shud be A.
agar tumne jo bhi kaha woh sab stat2 me likha hota,
then ans wud hv been A..
agar battery net charge supply karegi..........to voh ideal battery nahin rahegi.........CIrcuit kaam karne band kardega........For battery to work it requires the charge lost by positive terminal is regained through negative terminal.......
i have written all this in my previous post.[1]
sorry if i am spoiling it but this just came to my mind..
ok ans for this one was B ..
but wat if the statements are interchanged [4]
then it would be A i think..........
and then we can be sure that the answer is B for this one..
boolean algebra :))
