wow!!
critically acclaimed as the worlds toughest engineering exam ( olympiads are phaltu compared to this) the FIITJEE AITS open test has won a dubious reputation among jee hopefuls ;) i have some dbts in this ( they charge u 337Rs to invite a superb exam experience to urself and boldly forget to explain their sols properly )
resolved ;)

What did they mean by" speed of sound observed"??
this is not clear to me...[7]
Dopller one i think Nishant Sir mite b da only coz either wat v all think wrt sp. of sound observed is wrong OR da FIITG guyz r wrong....
@AB yeah i re-read the questn i got dat da answer was already postedxd ther
@ tapan
the full aits maths paper was brain rattling , not a single problem useless
so i suggest u get the paper frm ur frnds in fiitjee
i wont be able to post the full q paper ( u may call me selfish ;) )
If open test maths paper was nice.. then full test V paper was a bomb... :P
LOL.... OH K K......
AND HEY CELE... DONT EVER SAY U R SELFISH ..... [11] ....
cele tell me how u got the pipe ans then maybe i can help cuz i don no how u got ur ans
k
F = d(mv)/dt = Av2Ï
by eq of continuity Q =Av1 =Av2
so v1 =2 v2=4
F = √ F12 + F22 = 8√5 Ï
though im pretty sure of this method my ans doent match
celestine he is talking about no:of diastereomers na. diastereomers are isomers which are not enantiomers
Celestine even I am as positive as you are on the correctness of your solution for the flow of water in the bend pipe :)
i am also getting
8√5Ï
force due to change in momentum...
=16Ïj+8Ïi
due to external pressure.
=4Ïj+8Ïi
net force=16Ïi+20Ïj
someone expert try the doppler q and explain it to us
(all the students feel that sol given is wrong )
and seeing ur signature line i can understand ur physics prowess ;)
as im already engaged with bmat and narayanas aits im not able to join fiitjee aits .
i plan to take rtpf instead . are the q sames as the aits in terms of toughness and are the solutions explained properly ?
priyam i saw ur solution and to reach the answer i did that only
but the question asks what is the force due to water and not net force!
Will maine ye socha tha.... but phir ye socha..
"But atmosphere applies force on water and water on tube..".
i am also not that convinced... [3]
mujhe laga ispar koi dhyan nahi dega... hehehehe par mai galat tha... :P
hey dat Doppler que...m not sure if this is convincing enuf, but i think its correct:
1. Wavelength changes if there is relative motion between source and medium.
2. Frequency changes if there is relative motion between source and observer.
3. ABSOLUTE Speed of sound is constant as long as temp. is constant.
but most importantly, the question DOES NOT ask abt the abs. speed, it asks the speed wrt to that observer..so v jus got to apple the concept of relative velocity...
using above concepts, all FIITJEE answers are correct...
but what is the meaning of speed of sound observed???
how can u observe speed of sound??...plz anybody reply
hey what celi !!!!
infact i should be thanking u..for putting up the questions...
thnx a ton man ! they r gud ones !..
..if possible, can u put up some more ??
