Mr. Function, I disagree about the fact that it doesn't appear on the no. line. Its just that the number line has no end and we only consider the part we require.

For example, when we solve inequalities, there are instances when we define the value of x to belong to a certain region like (-∞,2). So we simply can't say that it doesn't exist on number line.

yeah ...i agree...what i meant to say is that its too large...so practically speaking you cant say where it lies...its just a point that has a high magnitude...

Of course it doesn't exist on number line..lol...why else do you have a "(" bracket and not a "[" bracket for it..you can't include it in the set of real numbers! Or even complex nos for that matter.
