atom is smaller than a molecule xcept in monoatomic elements (He),but it is the molecule which is the smallest substance which can xist independently,wereas an atom is always present in a molecular form.

Atom is generally smaller. But, in mono-atomic elements, atoms and molecules are of the same size (they are the same thing.)
