rydberg's equation is the quantitative representation of saying that difference in energy of 2 orbits is equal to the energy of photon, from which wave number is obtained.
do anybody know the derivations for the following: >bohr's formula En= 2π2me4 n2h2 >bohr's radius rn= a0n2 Z & rn= a0n2 >mvr=nh 2 π

ya they are simple.....
now..
F=Ze2/4πεr2
and F=mv2/r
and mvr=nh/2Ï€
using all these eqn.... we can derive all of them.... simple hai yaar
mvr=nh/2 pi.............(1) is a postulate by bohr, it cannot be derived
for radius and velocity,
centripetal force is provided by electrostatic force of attraction between electron and proton.
so mv2/r=ke2/r2 where k=1/4πε0.............(2) (u'll learn about electrostatics in ur seond year)
from this u can derive velocity and radius.
enery is the sum of potential energy and kinetic energy.
KE=1/2 mv2
PE=-ke2/r..... (again electrostatics)
subst. for r and v and add them to get E
are u talking about photoelectric effect?? i am not able to get u!
