Q1. Two concentric shells of radius R and 2R, out of which the inner shell is having a charge Q and the outer shell is uncharged. If they are connected with a conducting wire, then
(a) Q amount of charge will flow from inner to outer shell
(b) Q/e number of electrons will flow from outer to inner shell, where e is charge on an electron.
(c) kQ2/4R amount of heat is produced in the wire
(d) kQ2/2R amount of heat is produced in the wire

ANS: a,b,c...i could get the answers, but cant understand why should heat be produced in a wire which is perfectly conducting???

Q2. <<paragraph>>
A standing wave exists in a string of length 150cm fixed at both ends. The displacement amplitude of a point at a distance of 10cm from one of the ends is 5√3 mm. The distance between two nearest points, within the same loop having the same displacement amplitude of 5√3 mm is 10 mm.

(i) The maximum displacement amplitude of the particle in the string is (a) 10mm (b) 20/√3 mm (c)10√3mm (d) 20mm

(ii) The mode of vibration of the string, i.e. the overtone produced is (a) 2 (b)3 (c) 4 (d) 6

(iii) At what maximum distance from one end is the potential energy of the string zero? (a) 10√3 cm (b) 15 cm (c) 20 cm (d) 30 cm

are the values given correct??? i mean i think instead of mm, they shud have been in cm....

Q3. <<assertion-reason>>
STATEMENT-1: Work done by static friction is zero
STATEMENT-2: When static friction is operating between two bodies, the point of application of frictional force does not move relative to any body.

Ans given is D but i think it shud be A
