1hey yaar u can easily eliminate options b and c...because the C.O.M. of the system will be towards AB rod only...about others thinking....
1i totally agree with sky...it can be just done by finding the position of C.O.M.
1In accordance with sky's diagram...Let the centre of mass of rod AB be considered at origin....and that of MC be at a distance of L from origin...
Therefore...
x=(M(0)+2M(L))/3M
=2L/3....
where, x= distance of center of mass of the system from M taking M as origin....
Thus MP=2L/3...
Therefore CP=4L/3....
