Good Morning Mr. Abhishek.
Speed, acceleration, displacement all these "vectors" are measured "from" a specific "origin".
And this origin can be defined by the measurer according to his/her wish.
Let us consider your first statement in post #1:
"The Earth travels 10000km per hr around the sun"
I would ask with respect to whom?
To refine the statement I would say "The Earth travels 10000 kmph around the sun (i.e. with respect to the sun)"
And ALL THE EARHLINGS TRAVEL @10,000 kmph w.r.t the sun.
Now, let us consider your second statement in post #5:
"where the escape velocity is 1078 miles per hour"
Again same question : "With respect to whom?"
Answer: With respect to the earth.
i.e. if a body traverses @ 1078 miles per hour with respect to the earth, it will go away and never come back....Isn't that how we define death? :P
But now if we stand on earth, our velocity with respect to earth is 0 while that with respect to sun is 10,000 kmph thus it will never be able to go away from the earth!
P.S.: Origin matters! ;)
