well u need to see when x=-1

then y=2,4, 6 etc will satisfy...

it is wrong aranorn... slightly misplaced...

see philip's post

Guys is the graph correct or horribly wrong?

I have a feeling there's something seriously wrong in my reply. But I don't know what it is [7][2]. PLs tell me guys

xy=1

y lnx=0? [7][7][7]

=> y=0 or lnx=0
=> y=0 =>x=1

lol :D

no i dont think either of eureka or prophet had any bad intentions...

see prophet had solved atleast a few very good questions that eureka has posted :)

but now the real prob

00 ≠1

but try it on the calc on your comp.

if -1<x<1 no soln
if x<-1 or x>1 no soln (cep 0 that is)

so zero is soln for all x
for x= 1 y can be anything
for x=-1 y can be any even no.

im feeling too dizzy to think more
forgive if i have murdered some laws of mathematics unintentionally

x axis, *except origin

union

x=1

union

x=-1 with even integers points on it!

1
Philip Calvert ·

no but i still din get the solutions

62
Lokesh Verma ·

does it matter if x is less or greater than 1 :)

yup you are right to say that...

what is x0 ?

1
Philip Calvert ·

bcoz when we raise the nos to a power the general effect is different
in one case it increases and the other it decreases

62
Lokesh Verma ·

why do you think you have to take differnet cases for |x|>1 and |x|<1

1
Philip Calvert ·

can't get anything more
any hint

62
Lokesh Verma ·

i should add that you did correctly most of the part...

except a couple of lines.. or may be just one...

The solution is very simple..

62
Lokesh Verma ·

if -1<x<1 no soln

there are solutions!
