Hmm... good question.. but not good enuf to deserve an answer yet ;)

ok.. one more hint...

what is the equation fo the y axis?

Got it. [4]
Got the hint but not the answer [2]

I think 'nothing'... :(

Abhishek Priyam ·

let [x]≠{x}
then by multiplying both sides by {x}-[x]

we get...

x=5({x}-[x])
x=5{x}-5[x]
x=5{x}-5(x-{x})
x=10{x}-5x
6x=10{x}

{x}=3x/5

solving it we get x=0

but x≠0 as {x}-[x]≠0

so none :)

so correct ans is ?

:) i think this should be the answer....... unless i made some calculation mistake...........

is it none??

but i got

something

5{x} = 3x --------(1)

=> 8{x} = 3[x]

x=3/4, [x]=2 satisfying...

but again its not satisfying (1).

!! ??

Yeah this was easy wasnt it :)

now try this one... a slight variation...

{x}+[x] = 5
[x]-{x}

1
dimensions (dimentime) ·

x=5/3 ...........

1
skygirl ·

yes only one point..

[x] = 3/5 x

so x= 5/3.

Lokesh Verma ·

{x}+[x] = 5
[x]-{x}

{x}+[x] = 5[x]-5{x}

6{x} = 4[x]

{x} = 2/3[x]

{x} =0, 2/3 .. these are the only 2 options...

[x] = 0 or 1 correspondingly..

x cant be zero...

hence only one solution x=5/3
