dissolution process can be exo endo or even ΔH=0 in case of an ideal solution ....
during dissolution the solute and the solvent molecules are pushed apart to accomodate the solute particles in the solvent these two steps require energy and finally when the solute and solvent particles interact energy is released so it depends upon the energy changes in the above steps....
so 1 is false and 2 is true
