with d4 configuration,Cr(2+) acts as reducing agent but Mn3+ acts as oxdisng agent.why?

Mn3+ has lots of deficiency in electrons to lose any further electrons!
Also gaining electrons makes it d5 and half filled shell lends stability!

whereas for Cr losing electrons wud give fully filled and stable t2g config as it wud have only 3 electrons in the d subshell...so i it will try to lose 1 electron
