'Coz Empirical Formula is always in the Lowest terms of resp. atoms.....& only (c) is the one thts correct.
A hydride of boran contains 5.94g of B and 1.8 g of hydrogen then the emperical formula of boron hydride would be____
a)B3H6
b)B2H6
c)BH3
d)B4H10
In this question fist find the number of moles of B and H in the compound
moles of B = 5.94/ 10 ≈ 0.6
Hydrogen = 1.8/1 = 1.8 ..
so the ratio is 1:3 ..so the hydride wud be like B2H6 or BH3 ..
but in the question we are asked emperical formula so it shud be BH3
obviously the empirical formula is BH3 as in accordance with govind's working.we cannot say anything about mol formula unless mol wt or vapour density etc are given.
