can u explain 1=a
and 2=c ???

Eureka 2 = c...that is NESSLER's REAGENT, used in qualitative analysis of zero group which contains ammonium ion. On reaction of Nessler's reagent with ammonium ion, it gives IODIDE OF MILLON'S BASE, which is H2N.HgO.HgI
SO2Cl2 is paramagnetic. S is in +6 state, and in this oxidation state group 16 elements have 6 unpaired electrons divided into 3s, 3p and 3d orbitals(all having same spin by Hund's rule). Only oxygen doesn't exhibit this trend in positive ox states(as it doesn't have d-orbitals).
[This concept is from p-block elements]
EDIT : Wikipedia has described the compound as a colourless liquid. This means it is diamagnetic, the 6 electrons for S6+ get paired up in bonding with O and Cl. Made a mistake earlier. So its diamagnetic.
@eure: you cant guarantee anything in inorganic
P-block is there, NH3 is there.. so there is no reason for excluding NH4+ also..
@eure: if i remember correctly there was a question regarding Nessler's reagent in the last 3 yrs. (perhaps in a passage)
So you can say nothing
Even Fe2+ (or Fe 3+) is not mentioned in that list.. But u have to know them
