+4?
pl confirm...
WHAT IS THE OXIDATION NUMBER OF CHROMIUM IN [Cr (O2)4]
PLZ SOMEONE REPLY..
THE OXIDATION NO FOR EACH O IN (O2) IS -2??????
I think you have mistyped somewhere.or the question is wrong. How can it have oxidation state to be +16?
i"m sorry it is K3{Cr(O2)4} THE ANSWER GIVEN IS +13 BUT HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE ???
To send Cr to such a high oxidation state too much huge amount of energy is required, which is not possible.
Cr is in +5 here. All Oxygen are involved in peroxy linkage , i.e each O has ON= -1 ..
