QUALITATIVE ANALYSIS

CHOOSE THE CORECT STATEMENT(S)

A)The red blood colour obtained by adding KCNS to a ferric salt fades out when NAF is gradually added to it

B) When NaOH is added to a cupric salt solution, pale bluish geen Cu(OH)2 is precipitated. But if Rochelle salt is added to the cupric solution, addition of NaOH produces no ppt.A deep blue soln is obtained.

C)The chromium compound with the formula CrCl3.6H2O exists in 3 isomeric forms with different colours –violet, dark green & pale green.

D)addition of excess of Cl- ions to the pink aq. Soln of cobalt nitrate gives a blue solution.

opt C is true coz of ionisation isomerism....

B coz rochelle salt has NH4+ ion which forms tetraminecoppersulfat (deep blue soln.)

D maybe bcoz CoCl2 cud b formed (NOT SURWE)

A) The blood red colour is due to formation of Fe(SCN)3 and it fades out due to formation of [FeF6]3-,which is a stable colourless complex.

B) ya, its due to formation of tetraaminecoppersulphate ion, which is deep blue in colour

C) due to possibility of ionisation isomerism

D) ITS FALSE. as CoCl2 formed is soluble colourless solution. only substance of Co,which is blue is [Co(CNS)4 2-
