Why does only Cu2+ form precipitate by passing H2S gas through an acidified solution but not Zn2+?

Because of Common Ion Effect frm the acid.

Ksp of ZnS is high n CuS is low...matlab, Zinc ion needs more of sulphide ions to precipitate.

But the H+ frm the acid will decrease the dissociation of H2S, thereby decreasing Sulphide ion concen. n causing only CuS to form a ppt.
