change in lin momentum = F .t so whats wrong ?

can we think like this . momentum does not change along the x-axis.
and along the y-axis it changes with magnitude = 20- (9.8)*1
= 10
hence change inlinear momentum is 10

if V is vel of insect wrt plank (V =L/t)
U is vel of plank in opp direction
vel of insect wrt grd = V - U < V <L/t
