Ans b is wrong because angular momentum direction is in perpendicular direction and it is constant i think ans is a because the resultant acceleration is towards the center of earth.
a satellite S is moving in an elliptical orbit around the earth The mass of the satellite is very small compared to mass of earth
a)The acceleration of S is always directed towards the centre of earth
B) the angular momentum of S about the centre of earth changes its direction but its magnitude remains constant
c)total mechanical energy of S varies periodically with time
d) the linear momentum of S remains constant in magnitude
I think the ans is (b) but in the test it is marked wrong

for (a) If the resultant is always towards the centre of earth then the orbit should be circular not elliptical
For (b) the angular momentum will change its direction at every point due to change in direction of v(vector)
Please explain where i am wrong
